Habanera from Bizet’s Opera Carmen

Habanera (music or dance of Havana, Spanish: La Habana) is the popular name for “L’amour est un oiseau rebelle” (“Love is a rebellious bird”), an aria from Georges Bizet’s 1875 opera Carmen. *Wikipedia

Melodically, the characteristic of this piece is the descending chromatic line and the counterpoint in the second section. Dynamically, it is the surprise punctuation in the second section that you should emphasise.
