Hornpipe from Handel’s Water Music

The Water Music is a collection of orchestral movements, often published as three suites, composed by George Frideric Handel. It premiered on 17 July 1717, in response to King George I’s request for a concert on the River Thames.*Wikipedia

The Alla Hornpipe, or simply ‘Hornpipe’, is from Suite No 2 in D Major. It has been transposed to F Major in this arrangement for playability reasons.

The piece is in ternary form (ABA) with the first section (A) being the easiest and suitable for intermediate players. The second section (B) is very demanding for the Uke 1 part and should be attempted by advanced players.

Your purchase will allow you to copy sufficient parts for ONE group.

If you require a licence to play this arrangement in more than one group, please purchase additional copies for each.

For Ukulele Orchestra: 3 Low G plus Bass or 1 Low, 2 Hi G plus Bass

For advanced intermediate and advanced players.

Each pack comes with a score in notation, and separate parts (in both TAB and Notation), as well as a short introduction with playing notes. There is a second file containing a midi audio file of the entire arrangement.

Here is a Soundcloud file of section A with Ian playing all the parts
