If you are a retiree, a working from home mum or dad, a ukulele enthusiast or anyone else who maybe looking for a couple of hours of fun, a strum and singalong with this great little instrument, then this group is for you! These are day-time groups.
In a very relaxed environment you will be among forgiving and supportive people who share your passion for strumming the ukulele and having a fun time. We strum and sing through as many songs as we can at each session. Whilst knowing your C,F & G chords is important, this group will also expand your knowledge of chords and repertoire at a slow and steady pace. We do this in each session by including a 30-minute workshop from Ian to focus on a particular song or technique.
All levels of playing are catered for, as well as pure singers and observers! We will help you manage your ISS (incessant strumming syndrome). If you have never played ukulele and want to start we welcome beginners to attend one of Ian’s short courses in Chatswood, specifically designed for this group.
This Group is based in West Pymble, at the West Pymble Bicentennial Club
The West Pymble group meets on Tuesdays between 10:30am and 12:30pm. Our next meeting for 2018 is on 26th June, and fortnightly thereafter.
A small participation fee ($10) is payable at the door to defray costs at each session, with discounts available when paying in advance.
What do I need to do
Register your interest at https://www.meetup.com/Northern-Sydney-Ukulele-Strummers/ or call or email Ian via the contacts page here. Then bring your uke, a music stand and as many of your friends as you can. A PDF of material is distributed prior to the session so you can have a practice before hand.
